The Story
Dan Holt is a third-generation Gloucester fisherman who has captained the Resolute for 15 years, working Georges Bank for cod and pollock the way his grandfather did — except with better electronics and stricter quotas. The Resolute is a 65-foot stern trawler built in 2009, heavy enough to handle Georges Bank weather and efficient enough to make multi-day trips pay. Dan lands at Portland because the Exchange gives him transparent pricing and same-day settlement — no backroom deals, no waiting. He typically runs 3-4 day trips, icing carefully in the hold, and his product arrives at the Exchange with freshness scores in the low 80s — solid for a trip boat.
